Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 

The Department of Sociology is looking for an International Student Content Creator to assist with the creation of new marketing resources for the student body. 

We’re looking for students to create TikTok/Instagram reel-style content inspired by your experience as an International student at Manchester Met. What is it like to be an International student at Manchester Met? What do you enjoy the most? What advice you might give to current students, or those hoping to study with us? Now is your chance to share with us and create content reflecting your experience.

General Duties:

  • Generate student-led content ideas for the School of Sociology and Criminology social media channels. 
  • Film and edit your own content, using tools such as CapCut or Adobe Creative Suite.
  •  Work alongside the department's social media team, to ensure content aligns with our strategic goals.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends. 
Dates: 5 January - July 2026
Hours of Work: Flexible around studies. Successful applicants will be asked to create content on an ad-hoc basis, with work anticipated to require maximum two hours per week. 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
  • You must be an International student.
  • You must be studying either an Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree within the School of Sociology and Criminology. You must remain a current student for the duration of the role.  
  • You must have strong communication skills and be willing to talk about your University experience.
  • You must be comfortable in front of the camera, and be able to edit social-media style video content.
