Social Media and Networking Assistant for the Popular Screen Cultures (PSC) Network.
We are seeking a motivated undergraduate student to support the activities of our research group. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organised, and enthusiastic about communication and engagement. The assistant will help manage the group’s visibility, coordinate updates, and ensure our work is shared effectively across platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management: This is the main part of the role and involves managing the PSC's social media accounts to ensure they remain active, sharing updates, advertising our events, and actively engaging with similar accounts to raise our visibility.
- Communication with members of the PSC Network: Regularly contact and chase members (circa 15) for updates. Identify potential new members through the staff pages and create a list for the Research Innovation Lead.
- Event support: Brief occasional attendance to some of the events to take photos of speakers and activities, so these can be shared in social media.
- Content creation: Draft posts and updates for the PSC's LinkedIn page. Assist with the compilation and summary of group activities for an end-of-year report.
Dates: 05 Jan 2026 - 31 July 2026
Hours of Work: 35 hours total, divided across 30 weeks, to be agreed with Dr Marta F Suarez. The student should reserve the same hour(s) on a regular basis or on a rota, so they are contactable during that hour, either in person or via Teams. Tasks will be allocated weekly or fortnightly (as agreed). Generally, the weekly or fortnightly hour(s) should be agreed and set between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
