Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

What: We’re looking for event ambassadors to support at our Conversion Visit Days. You will be asked to support with the following tasks:

  • Crowd control and signposting within the business school (at the start of the event only)  
  • Interactive sessions led by academics  
  • Share your experience as a student in a large lecture theatre or smaller sessions in a seminar room  
  • Support or lead tours of the Business School 
Why: As part of the student recruitment process, we invite applicants who have been given an offer to attend university for a few hours on a choice of dates. During this time, visitors are introduced to their subject area and have the opportunity to experience a taster lecture and interactive seminar to get a sense of what being a student here is really like.
 
Similar to Open Days, it’s important to have student ambassadors at these events as it gives our visitors the opportunity to hear your experiences and ask any questions they may have. After all, you are the voice of authenticity!

Where: Based in the Business School  

When: Events will run on the following dates. Please note, for the Saturday 28 February event only some of our courses will be hosting.

  • Saturday 28 February – Time TBC (dependent on course) - Accounting and Finance, Banking and Finance, Economics, Law, Business Management and Business Management with Law
  • Saturday 14 March - Time TBC (dependent on course) - All courses
     
  • Saturday 25 April - Time TBC (dependent on course) - All courses

Person Specification

This role is open to current Manchester Met students who meet the following criteria: 

  • Engaged with your course, including a good attendance rate.  
  • Confident communicators who can engage with a wide range of audiences.  
  • Positive role models with a professional, friendly, and approachable manner.  
  • Team players who can also work independently and show initiative.  
  • Comfortable speaking in front of people  
  • Reliable, responsive, and happy to collaborate via email.
