We are looking for two proactive, organised and enthusiastic interns to support the City Producers in delivering Manchester 48 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in:
- Event production
- Film competition management
- Marketing and audience growth
The 48 Hour Film Project is more than a competition — it’s a launchpad. You’ll be working on an event that culminates with films screening at Vue Cinema, supporting filmmakers whose work can progress to international festivals. You won’t just be observing — you’ll be part of making it happen. The Manchester 48 Hour Film Project is run by Nicholas Barnard & Danielle Bennett as City Producers.
You’ll gain direct insight into how a large-scale creative event is planned, marketed and executed — from strategy to screen. What You’ll Be Doing:
Pre-Production Support (March – May): Approx. 10 hours total (virtual/hybrid – approx. 1 hour per week)
- Assisting with marketing strategies and tasks (social media scheduling, copy support, outreach research)
- Assisting with admin and team registrations
- Supporting email communications and database management
- Helping coordinate competition logistics
- Supporting partnership and sponsor liaison where required
- Contributing ideas to growth strategy and audience engagement
Filmmaking Weekend (15–17 May 2026) - 4 hours total
- 2 hours in person at the Kick-Off event (Friday evening the 15th of May 2026): Guest check-in, Supporting event setup, General event assistance
- 2 hours virtual during film Drop-Off (Sunday evening the 17th of May 2026): Supporting submission checks, Admin and entry confirmations
Screenings & Awards Weekend (30th or 31st of May 2026 – Date TBC) - 6 hours in person
- Supporting front-of-house operations
- Assisting with guest coordination
- Supporting awards preparation
- Helping manage filmmaker experience and flow
- Assisting with audience awards voting and counting
