Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students only; to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
Manchester Movement Unit are looking for x2 Sports Massage Therapists to provide treatments to our PGMO (Professional Game Match Officials Board) clients. Focusing on soft tissue therapy, therapists will aid clients after their strength and conditioning sessions at Platt Lane Sports Complex. 
 
 Dates: March/April 2026 - July 2026 (dates to be confirmed upon job offer). 
 
Hours of Work: 11:30am - 1:30pm, Mondays and Thursdays (4 hours per week).

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
 
  • Sports massage therapists must provide evidence of a level 3 or 4 sports massage certificate, if not a qualified Physiotherapist. Proof will be required at interview.  
  • Physiotherapists who apply must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy; a sports massage qualification is desirable, but not essential. Proof will be required at interview.
  • Must have enhanced DBS cleared and indemnity insurance in place. Proof will be required at interview. 
  • Must have at least 1 year experience post qualification.
  • Clear, concise verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to write concise and clear, reports and notes in English.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Ability to work well with others and pass on skills and knowledge.
  • Committed to personal and team development.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Ability to motivate.
  • Enthusiastic.
  • Able to accept responsibilities and use initiative.
  • Relevant governing body registered (e.g HCPC, GCMT, SMA). Proof will be required at interview stage.
