The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
This role will involve creating six short animations to support an outreach project known as the School Wellbeing Project. The project involves MMU students going into schools around Greater Manchester to teach pupils about mental health and wellbeing. It is growing rapidly and has now reached over 1500 pupils in more than 30 schools.
During the sessions, pupils watch animations to help them understand mental health and wellbeing. However, the existing animations are very basic, created using Canva, which limits pupil engagement. The successful candidate must therefore have experience creating short animations and integrating visual and audio sources to develop engaging resources.
Part of the role will involve re‑recording audio with academics, as well as creating new visual animations to accompany the audio. By being involved in this project, you will help us reach more children than before. The improved animations will allow us to extend the programme to all teachers across our partner school network in Greater Manchester (over 1000 schools), enabling them to deliver the programme in their own classrooms.
The potential positive impact of this programme on children in Greater Manchester is significant, and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate this experience on their CV.
