The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
The successful candidate will assist in psychological research by conducting a small-scale research project to inform teaching practices within psychology. We would like to explore psychology student experiences of active learning, and blended learning (i.e.: online activities). This is a fantastic opportunity for a student to develop their communication and organisational skills, whilst also contributing to the continued success of the school of psychology.
Key tasks
The successful candidate will assist in:
- Completing a review of the literature on the topic area and writing this up.
- Consulting with staff members and/or a student advisory panel to determine key priorities for subsequent focus groups.
- Using the review to generate an initial draft of focus group materials (i.e.: question schedule, supporting slides, etc).
- Piloting a student-led focus group, including the recruitment of participants.
- Summarising pilot focus group materials into written format.
All of the above tasks will be undertaken with support from an academic team.

- Independent working
- Research project piloting (recruitment, data collection, summarise findings)
Please Note - As part of the 2026 Student Internship offering, priority will be given to Level 5 & 6 students who have specified in the Careers Registration survey (this is completed during enrolment and cannot be changed at this time) that they have had no work experience in the last 12 months and would like some on campus work or a short work placement. However, applications are welcomed from all students meeting the criteria below.
Students are only eligible to undertake one internship under the 2026 Student Internship offering.
