Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
The Conference Assistant will support the smooth running of the conference by helping with set-up, welcoming delegates, providing directions, and assisting with general event coordination throughout the day. This role would suit a reliable and approachable student who is confident speaking to people, able to use their initiative, and comfortable supporting a busy event environment.

Details of role:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up for the conference
  • Manning the registration desk
  • Helping people navigate the building
  • Being the first point of contact for delegates with queries
  • Managing the signage and programme displays
  • Timekeeping for presenters in breakout sessions
  • Breaking down conference materials at the end
Dates: Tuesday 23rd to Thursday 25th June 2026
Hours of Work: 08:30 to 14:00 each day

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
  • Approachable and friendly 
  • Good levels of customer service 
  • Ability to wok on own initiative 
  • Confident communicator
