Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
  
We’re looking for students to support in subject specific webinars (dates below). These webinars are co-hosted by lecturers who will be presenting to prospective students. During these webinars you will be asked to share your experience as a student so far and may be required to answer questions.

The webinars will be held on the following dates/times, please only apply if you are able available for the webinar that aligns with the course you are studying.

Monday 27th April, 4-5pm – Criminology and Sociology

Tuesday 28th April, 4-5pm – School of Digital Arts

Thursday 30th April, 4-5pm – English, Creative Writing and Film Studies

Friday 1st May, 1-2pm – History, Politics and Philosophy

 

Where: All webinars will be held online. You will be required to set yourself up in a quiet space and have access to teams.

Why: As part of the student recruitment process, we invite offer holders to attend a series of conversion events including Visit Days and webinars. During these events, we focus on the features and benefits of the courses and the reasons they should choose Manchester Metropolitan University as a place to study.

Students have been identified as the “voice of authenticity”, so having student representatives at these events allows us to share first hand accounts of your experience and life beyond the classroom.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
 

Please note, due to the nature of the events, subject specific knowledge is required.

  • Undergraduate students from the subject areas listed below from within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
  • Criminology and Sociology (all UG courses) 3x students
  • School of Digital Arts (all UG courses) 8x students 
  • English, Creative Writing, Film Studies (all UG courses) 3x students 
  • History, Politics and Philosophy (all UG courses) 4x students 
 
You must be: 
  • Happy to answer questions to prospective students
  • Confident speaking in front of a group of people online
  • Able to speak and reflect positively on your student experience
  • You must be available for the time and date of the webinar for your selected course
