We are seeking a motivated undergraduate or postgraduate student to support a qualitative research project exploring children’s experiences of physical activity.
Role overview
The postholder will support data collection with children aged 5–11 years, primarily through facilitating small focus groups. Sessions will use creative, child‑friendly qualitative methods such as photo elicitation activities and ranking or sorting tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting and/or facilitating focus groups with children aged 5–11
- Assisting with creative qualitative activities during sessions
- Helping with preparation of materials and basic data management
- Following ethical and safeguarding procedures at all times
Timing and pay
- Hourly paid role
- Data collection expected to take place in June/July and September
- Some flexibility required around session times
Dates: Data collection expected to take place during school hours (9am-3pm, Monday-Friday) during June/July and September
Hours of Work: Variable. Maximum of 5 hours in a week.
