Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
Who: This job ad is only open to current Business and Law Subject Support Ambassadors.
 

What: We’re looking for event ambassadors to support at several taster afternoons. These events are co-hosted by our Outreach Team and academics.  During these events you may be asked to support on the following activities:  

  • Crowd control and signposting within the business school (at the start of the event only)  
  • Interactive sessions led by academics  
  • Share your experience as a student in a large lecture theatre or smaller sessions in a seminar room  
  • Support or lead tours of the business school  

Why: As part of the student recruitment process, we invite prospective students from colleges and sixth forms to attend campus for several hours. During this time they will be introduced to certain subject areas, within the faculty of business and law, and will have the opportunity to attend a series of interactive seminars.  

Similar to Open Days, it’s important to have student ambassadors at these events as it gives our visitors the opportunity to hear your experiences and ask any questions they may have. After all, you are the voice of authenticity!  

Where: Based on campus (differs for each event)

When:  The taster afternoons will run on the following dates and times:  

  • 7 May 2026 - Young Enterprise Afternoon – 9:45am – 4:45pm - GM building  
  • 10 June 2026  – Sports Management Taster – 9:45am – 1:15pm -  Business School  
  • 11 June 2026  – Business Management Taster – 12pm – 4:15pm - Business School  
  • 18 June 2026  – Law Taster Day – 12pm-4:15pm - Business School  
  • 25 June 2026  – HRM Taster and Digi Bus – 9:45-1:30pm - Business School  
  • 30 June 2026 – Business Taster – 9:30am – 2:30pm - Business School  

Person Specification

 This role is only open to current Faculty of Business and Law Subject Support Ambassadors at Manchester Met who are: 
 
  • Engaged with your course, including a good attendance rate. 
  • Confident communicators who can engage with a wide range of audiences. 
  • Positive role models with a professional, friendly, and approachable manner. 
  • Team players who can also work independently and show initiative.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a camera.
  • Reliable, responsive, and happy to collaborate via email.
  • A pro-active attitude willing to support on additional projects.
