Job Description

This opportunity is available for current International Manchester Met students. To apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. 
 
Are you an international student who would be comfortable on camera and wants to share your university experience? This is an exciting opportunity to feature in a video with the International Marketing team! 
 
We are looking for students to take part in filming with the support and guidance of the International Marketing team and a marketing agency, on the university campus and various locations around Manchester. 
 
The video will be focused on how Manchester Met can help international students secure a graduate job and help boost your employability. This opportunity will be a fun and exciting way to inspire others like yourself to come to live and study in Manchester and the UK. We want the video to be upbeat, engaging, and encourage international students to find out more about Manchester Met and to ultimately come and study here. This is your opportunity to help strengthen the international student community at Manchester Met. 
 
The aim of the videos is to: 

    • Communicate key employability support and opportunities 
    • Raise awareness of the employability facilities and services available 
    • Raise awareness of Manchester Met to an international audience at all study levels through the website, social media and digital channels 
    • Demonstrate Manchester Met can offer a valuable international student experience 
    • Inspire international students to study here and therefore increase application numbers 
    • Capture your experience studying at Manchester Met  
    •  

The videos will be shown on the university website, social mediadigital channels and third-party advertising. 

Times: You will be required to attend at least 1 full filming day, likely to be on Wednesday 3 June (exact date to be confirmed). Filming days will be for up to 10 hours each plus an hour’s unpaid lunch break. 

We will provide a paid 30 min online briefing meeting for successful candidates to explain the requirements of the video in detail ahead of the filming days.  

Interview / Casting Date: Tuesday 19th May (subject to change) 

Briefing Date: TBC

Successful candidates of this first stage will then be invited to attend an interview / casting session before being selected to take part in the filming. 

Person Specification

This role is only open tocurrent international Manchester Met students - 

    • Be a friendly, engaging and positive representative of your course, department and Manchester Met 
    • Feel confident in front of a camera 
    • Excellent verbal and written English 
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of contexts 
    • Good organisational and presentation skills 
    • Presentable and professional 
    • Able to ‘think on your feet’ 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
