Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 

Who: Open to undergraduate business and law students. 

What: In this role you will act as a student representative for your current subject area of study. The event includes subject stand set up, where you will be required to answer questions and offer guidance to visitors. You may also be required to support academic staff in subject presentations, giving an overview of your course and experience of university life so far. 

Why: Open Days are a key part of student recruitment. These events are run to introduce prospective students to the university and give a top level overview of the courses they are interested in studying. Feedback suggests that prospective students prefer hearing from current students as the one true voice of authenticity. 

When: Wednesday 17 June 2026, 9:30am – 4:00pm  

Where: Business School North Atrium 

 

Objective 

We’re looking for enthusiastic undergraduate students to support at the next UG Open Day. You will be expected to chat to prospective students and visitors, providing your personal experience as a student at Manchester Met. You will also be asked to support some of our academic staff to deliver a subject presentation.  

Why should you apply?

Person Specification

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for current undergraduate Business and Law students who are: 
 
A team player, as you’ll be working within a group of student ambassadors for the event 
Confident and approachable as you’ll be asked questions, but may also be required to start the conversation 
 Comfortable working with academic staff 
 Passionate about sharing your authentic student experience 
 Reliable and able to commit to a full day  
Able to take instruction and feedback
Communicative via email
