Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The Instagram live event will be hosted by staff from the International Office. You will be answering a set of questions about your student experience at Manchester Met. These questions will be shared with you in advance so you can prepare, but they may also come through live on the day. Details of this event will be shared with both prospective students and current students already on social media.

As part of the video recordings, you will be expected to introduce yourself, give top tips to new incoming students, share positive experiences of your time so far at Manchester Met, discuss your favourite things so far about being a student as well as the city, and more.

In addition to the live event, we will pre-record some Q&A with you to post on our social media a day before the live event. You will receive all the guidance and training necessary as part of the briefing. 
 

If you are made successful for this role, we will need a high-resolution photo of you for Instagram stories, as well as the testimonial form and your talking points:

 
Dates and times (total 2 hours):
  • Live event: Friday 29th May, 12:00 pm-1.00 pm
  • Briefing and pre-recordings: Thursday 28th May, 1.30-2.30pm
 

Person Specification

  • This role is only open to current international Manchester Met students who meet the following requirements -

    - Confident and engaging speaker, with the ability to communicate clearly and relate to prospective students from diverse backgrounds.
    - Comfortable using Instagram Live, with an understanding of social media etiquette.
    - Comfortable speaking on camera to a wide range of audiences and able to speak confidently and positively about your Manchester Met experience.
    - An understanding of the needs and challenges faced by international students, and the ability to connect empathetically with people from different cultural backgrounds.
    - Positively enthusiastic about your university experience and able to communicate this and create a welcoming and encouraging environment for prospective students.
    - Comfortable responding to live questions and able to think quickly to address a variety of topics as they arise during the event.
