Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
Degree Show Support – SODA BA Animation
 
 The SODA Animation degree show team require an intern ahead of the show opening to support with online promotion and general assistance during exhibition set-up. This will include documenting the show for socials and creating promo showreel.
 

Dates: 26th May 2026 – 12th June 2026 (flexible depending on availability)

 Hours: 48 hours over 3-week period

Location: SODA building Manchester Metropolitan University (hybrid working; on-site presence required for degree show set-up)

Key Tasks

Documentation of degree show

  • Edit of showreels curated from student work  
  • Photography of show set-up and final display
  • Design and coordinate online promotional materials (e.g., Instagram posts)

Degree show set-up support

  • Assist with printing and hanging of materials
  • Assist with display screen set-up

Team Working

  • Work closely with academic staff and students to provide support and produce promotional materials.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who meet the criteria below:

Essential

  • Current undergraduate or postgraduate student at Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently using initiative and judgement, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience of managing competing priorities and delivering tasks to a high standard.
  • Proficiency using design tools and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Experience of handling information in an organised and systematic way
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy across multiple strands of work.
  • Professional and reliable approach to communication.

Desirable

  • Experience in contributing to previous events/degree shows
  • Experience in editing animation showreels
  • Demonstrable proficiency in use of social media to promote events
