The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
The Res Life Team is looking for a student staff member to help with all our comms and social media. We aim to share more student-generated content across its social media channels. The team is looking to recruit a Student Comms Assistant who can create content about our accommodation, help update the website, manage an email newsletter, create digital screen assets, and promote events every week, following agreed themes. The content could include: diaries, blogs, videos, images, vlogs, etc. This covers a variety of topics and also requires on-site attendance to film/photograph events.
Ideally, candidates will have prior filming/photography experience and will need to be confident in using a camera. Candidates will be required to have a good understanding of how to use social media, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok primarily, but also in a more limited capacity, Facebook and Twitter, to ensure content is in the right format for each platform. A candidate should be confident when appearing in front of the camera. You must also be comfortable with content being used on the Manchester Met website as well as social media, and in other communications to students. The candidate would need to be confident in writing articles for publications and the website.
There will also be some admin work to maintain, including updating event listings and data entry.
