Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Are you a postgraduate Arts and Humanities student with a positive experience to share? On Tuesday 7 July we’re hosting an event for prospective postgraduate students who have an offer to study a course at Manchester Met this September.  

 

The aim of the event is to give visitors a taste for what to expect on their postgraduate course. The afternoon will involve interactive taster sessions, a networking session with tutors and current students, and a student life fair.  

 

During the event, your role could include:

 

  • Welcoming guests 
  • Taking part in a student and staff panel
  • Supporting an interactive subject taster session for your course
  • Speaking to prospective students during a networking session
  • Signposting visitors to the student life fair and other locations

The panel will begin at 3.15pm, followed by a tour for relevant courses, a networking session, and an interactive subject taster. After this you’ll help visitors find the student life fair.  

In order to apply for this role, you must be available for the full duration of the event (2.30pm to 6pm).

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met postgraduate students who study in one of the following subject areas in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities:

 

  • Architecture
  • Art and Design 
  • Creative Digital Arts (SODA)
  • English, Publishing and Creative Writing
  • Fashion 
  • History
  • Journalism and Information Communications
  • Languages, Linguistics and TESOL
  • Politics and International Relations
  • Sociology and Criminology

 

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be:

 

  • Friendly, engaging and a positive representation of your course, department and Manchester Met
  • Confident speaking on a panel and answering questions in front others
  • Presentable and professional
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Happy to speak to new people
