Background
The Professional Placement team manage the mandatory placements for students on Professional accredited programmes with the Faculty of Health and Education and Department of Healthcare Science in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Programmes include; Initial Teacher Training, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Healthcare Science.
In 2020 we introduced a Placement Management System, InPlace, which has revolutionised the way the university is able to manage placements, allowing the team to share placement opportunities and have a consistent approach to allocations across all programmes within the Faculties, plus the wider HEI sector across the North West.
The Role on offer is supporting the Professional Placement team, working with Education Services Administrators, to ensure all students have met all the Pre-Placement prerequisite for their programme of study before commencing a placement in a school or a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
The role will act as the first point of contact for newly enrolled students regarding Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Occupational Health queries, to ensure all students are fully compliant before commencing a professional placement with a school or within the NHS. You will support students through the process and offering excellent customer service. Each week students with outstanding DBS an Occupational Health will require the successful applicant to work with 3rd party suppliers and portals. The post holder will update the student record system updated in a timely manner in order for the allocation team to allocate the student placement.
Supporting the Education Services Officers in the process for the collection of information from students, such as the e-Learning for Health (e-Lfh) certificate, Childcare disqualification declaration and the annual Self Declarations. Students will access our Placement Manager System InPlace via the student portal to submit these requirements, and where necessary, the post holder will confirm and verify the submissions to make sure they correct and meet the professional standards. Submissions that do not, will be rejected by the post holder and followed up to ensure the submissions are correct before the deadline date.
On a weekly basis the post holder will provide statistical data to the Professional Placement Manager and Programme Leaders, informing of any issues and any recommendations on how to improve student engagement in order to met the strict deadlines.
This role is central to students being able to start a professional placement, and will work directly with Students, Placement providers, Programme Leaders and 3rd party providers, as well as the Professional Placements team.
Key Tasks

Collating data regards students DBS and Occupational Health certificates from a 3rd party portal and updating the Student Record System and InPlace on a daily basis
- Providing support to student through the Pre-Placement requirement process
- Providing up-to-date statistical information to the the Professional Placement Manager, highlighting areas of concern
- Supporting the Professional Placement team to ensure students are allocated a suitable placement and students are compliant to attend the placement

Dates: Monday 24 August - Friday 13 November 2026
Hours: 35 hours per week full time.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:45am-4:30pm or 9:00am-4:45pm with an unpaid 45-minute lunch break
Location: Hybrid working at 6 Great Marlborough Street, M1 5AL and Brooks Campus and home working
