Role Overview
The Graduate Intern will play a key role in developing and promoting the Residential Life (Res Life) programme, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (e.g. Sport and Wellbeing) to deliver an engaging student experience.
About the Team
Based within the Residential and Conference Team (Estates, Facilities and Capital Development), we manage over 2,100 student bedrooms and provide facilities management, welfare support, and a vibrant Residential Life programme of social, educational, and charitable events.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of a diverse, inclusive events programme to enhance student engagement
- Manage and grow Res Life’s social media presence (primarily Instagram and TikTok), including increasing student-generated content
- Coordinate Student Content Creators, organising and overseeing weekly content (e.g. blogs, vlogs, videos, photography)
- Attend and capture content at on-site events
- Support student communications across web, social media, live chat, and Open Days
- Gather feedback on events and promote initiatives such as the National Student Housing Survey
About You
- Confident on camera with strong awareness of social media trends (especially Instagram and TikTok)
- Creative, organised, and enthusiastic about student engagement
- Comfortable using a smartphone with a high-quality camera to produce content
- Good understanding of content formats for different platforms
- Willing to represent the service across social media, website, and wider communications

Details
Dates: Monday 24 August - Friday 13 November 2026
Hours: 35 hours per week full time.
Working pattern: Work hours will be 9:30am-5:00pm before student arrivals and 11:00am-6:30pm or 12:30pm-8pm after 18th September.
Due to the nature of the Service working hours may vary and the post holder may be required to work the following weekends (you will receive time off in the week before the days of work):
