Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
  

We are looking for a creative and motivated Digital Communications Assistant to support the launch of BeeLab MCR - an exciting new initiative connecting academics, students and community partners to tackle real-world challenges across Greater Manchester.

This short-term role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital communications while contributing to a meaningful, socially driven project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create engaging digital content (posts, blogs, visuals) to promote BeeLab
  • Assist with drafting and distributing communications to publicise key activities
  • Contribute ideas to strengthen BeeLab MCR’s digital presence and audience engagement
  • Assist with recruitment of external partners
  • Attend calls/meetings with external partners
Dates: 15 June - 24 July 2026
Hours of Work: 5 hours per week 
 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
  • Have strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Have strong digital media content creation skills
  • Are confident using social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, X)
  • Are organised, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Are interested in community engagement, social impact, or digital inclusion
  • Evidence of experience in customer-facing roles would be an advantage
