Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Manchester Met’s Communications and Marketing teams are looking for returning students and postgraduate students to join their Student Content Creator scheme.

As a Student Content Creator, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create videos, photos and blogs for use across social media, email, and web.
  • Shape campaigns including Graduation.
  • Showcase your life at Manchester Met both in and out of your studies.
  • Capture content at events throughout the academic year.
  • Contribute new content ideas based on your own experiences.

This role is ideal for anyone who wants to develop their content skills, build their confidence and work towards a role in a creative industry after university. You’ll work alongside other students from different courses and levels of study, as well as colleagues with extensive experience across various sectors.

Successful candidates will form part of our Student Content Creator talent bank. They will pick up tasks to fit around their studies, with an expectation that they will contribute to the scheme regularly. They will also have opportunities to pitch their own content ideas.

Past examples of Student Content Creator work include:

If you have any questions, please email [email protected] and a member of the team will be able to assist.

Person Specification

The ideal Student Content Creator will have:

  • Strong communications skills.
  • A confident knowledge of social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of creating and editing videos using a phone.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
  • A proactive approach to picking up work and completing tasks, with a keenness to deliver projects to the best of their ability.
  • A willingness to learn and try new things.

You don’t need to be a well-rounded content creator to apply – our ideal Content Creators strike a balance between having content skills and wanting to create content and engage with the scheme regularly. You will have the opportunity to work with communications and marketing experts, where you can develop new skills and grow in confidence.

This role is available to students from all courses (excluding distance learners). We have created the role to fit around your studies, so you can take on tasks depending on how much time you have to offer.

Please note that this role is not available for first year undergraduate students joining in September 2026. We will hold a separate recruitment drive for this group of students in January 2027.
