Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Two Finance and Economics students to assist with Employability support in the department as follows:
  1. Placement networking events: Coordinate two Level 4/5 × Level 6 "returners" networking sessions (Sem 1 and Sem 2), including room booking, invites, RSVP tracking, and a short Get Placed / benefits-of-placement briefing at the start and close.
  2. Class visits: Deliver short (5–10 min) promotional slots in core Level 4–6 classes to raise awareness of departmental employability events and non-curricular initiatives (e.g. RISE):
  3. Employer trackers: Build and maintain two live trackers (In-House Accounting Manchester; Banking & Finance) of 15–20 key regional employers, each with a linked contacts list (name, role, last contact date). Suggest a simple shared spreadsheet so it's usable after the student moves on.
  4. Video resources: Produce short "how to navigate [X] on Moodle" videos for UG course areas, prioritising the 2–3 highest-traffic or most confusing areas first rather than trying to cover everything.
  5. Employer insight days: Track and help promote insight day opportunities (Big 4, BNY, other banks), working with CES to keep a shared calendar and comms plan.
  6. Attendance/engagement monitoring: Maintain attendance records and basic engagement stats for employability events. Review the data periodically with employability leads to conclude what's working.
Will develop communication, organisation and networking skills, enhancing employability.
