Job Description (please include full details of the role including duties, what will be expected of the students and any project details if applicable)
This role is to help produce and facilitate a participatory printmaking project being held at the Whitaker Museum, Rawtenstall on Sunday Nov 8th 2026. The project is run by Oran O'Reilly and Brigid McLeer as part of a larger public art and research 'museum takeover' event hosted by research network 'What Time is Now?' and programmed as part of the UK wide Being Human festival. https://www.beinghumanfestival.org/events/what-time-now-a-whitaker-museum-takeover
We need two students to work with us to help produce preliminary prints for use during the event day, and to then help facilitate the live project on 8 November 2026. You will therefore be required to work some hours making preparatory materials here at MMU and then also to be available for the entire day on Sunday November 2026 to come to the Whitaker Museum to help facilitate the live project.
Travel costs from Manchester to Rawtenstall (rtn) will be covered.
We need students who have printmaking expertise and experience and/or experience working with Illustrator and the lasercutter. Guidance will also be given by tutors/technicians but some experience with either or both of these workshops and technologies is essential.
