The Recruitment & Admissions team are seeking to recruit postgraduate students who are currently studying at Manchester Met to become Student Ambassadors.
 
Student Ambassadors are proactive, organised, professional and enthusiastic Manchester Met students who can exclusively access and apply for a range of flexible job opportunities throughout the year.

There are a number of different opportunities available for postgraduate Student Ambassadors to represent the University.  You could support Open Days and Visit Days on campus, providing information to prospective students on the benefits of higher education and addressing the key selling points of Manchester Met. 

There are also opportunities to be involved in content creation for print and online activity, this could include writing blogs, giving testimonials, participating in photoshoots, and taking part in online/ on campus Q&A student panels.

The roles available to Student Ambassadors offer flexibility when working around study commitments.

Student Ambassador roles may include:
  • Representing the University at recruitment events, such as Open Days and Visit Days. For example, supporting the meet and greet team at the registration desk, answering visitor questions at the subject stands and lecture theatre support.
  • Supporting the set-up of recruitment events such as preparing and dismantling exhibition areas.
  • Acting as a tour guide, giving visitors an informative overview of the university campus and telling them about student life.
  • Representing the University online, including participating in virtual events, Q&A sessions, testimonials, blog writing and vlog opportunities.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Postgraduate Students who meet the following criteria:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with staff prospective students, and parents.
  • Responsible attitude and the ability to show initiative
  • Able to contribute and work effectively as part of a team or independently
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service and a professional approach.
  • Able to work flexibly to ensure smooth delivery of events
  • Willing to complete mandatory training before commencing work
  • Most of the recruitment events are on Wednesdays and Saturdays, therefore you will typically need to be available on these days.

How to Apply

The process consists of an initial application form. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on Wednesday 9 October 2024.
 
Success at this stage will result in an invitation to demonstrate your skills at an assessment centre, which will include a series of activities. Candidates who are successful at the assessment centre will then be enrolled into the Student Ambassador Scheme.

Once enrolled onto the Student Ambassador Scheme, you will have access to view and apply to Student Ambassador job adverts on Jobs4Students. There will be no further interviews and jobs will be allocated on either a skill based or first-come-first-served basis, depending on the role.

The assessment centre will be conducted on campus, you can select from the following dates and times:
Wednesday 16 October 12pm – 2pm or 2pm – 4pm
