Department of English Student Buddy

This opportunity is available for current Level 6 Manchester Met students in the Department of English who will be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Are you an English student who could offer help, advice and support to students in earlier year groups on your course? Are you interested in a career in teaching or mentoring others?

The English Department is seeking to recruit some enthusiastic ’English buddies’ from Level 6 to support our Level 5 students’ engagement with their course and to help them build skills for success at Level 6. 

Duties

• Connect with BA English Level 5 students and provide guidance and support on progressing to Level 6
• Gather feedback from Level 5 students on their course so far.
• Demonstrate and recommend learning resources to our Level 5s.
• Mentor Level 5s to help them take advantage of Careers and Extra-Curricular Activities

Dates of Work: March 2024 - April 2024 (four weeks)
Hours: To be discussed and agreed to work around your timetable - likely no more than 8 hours per week

This opportunity is available for current Level 6 Manchester Met students in the Department of English who will be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements
