The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
A number of students are required to take part in Programme Enhancement, Approval and Review (PEAR) panels. PEAR panels review and consider proposals for new academic courses and changes to existing courses at Manchester Met. A student voice on these panels is important to ensure that academic courses provide an excellent learning experience. This is an exciting opportunity to input into the development of course structures and learning experiences at Manchester Met whilst enhancing your CV and developing employability skills.
Working on this role will require you to comment on what is being proposed, with a particular focus on enhancing the student learning experience. This might include, for example: hearing and responding to the student voice, student support arrangements, teaching and learning methods, preparation for assessment and clarity of feedback.
This is an occasional role and there are no regular hours. Successful applicants to this role will have the opportunity to apply to work on individual panel roles throughout the academic year. You will be required to read the preparatory documentation (usually around 2 hours work) and then attend a half or full day panel meeting to raise any comments/feedback. It is anticipated that each activity will require between 6-10 hours of time, although this may vary depending on the courses being approved.
Please note, successful applicants will need to attend one mandatory paid training session before undertaking this role. The scheduled online training sessions are Tuesday 13th May (2-4pm) and Tuesday 20th May (9.30-11.30am).
