The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
This role is for a technical and administrative conference assistant, to assist with the smooth running of a one day symposium happening on 16th May, SODA ground floor LT, MMU. This is an opportunity to work with artists, academics and the public, to help with the running of a one-day symposium - both behind the scenes and on the day.
The successful candidate needs to:
- be available on 15th May for a briefing with organisers and to check technical equipment on site. To also be free all day on 16th May on campus.
- ensure technical and smooth running of AV PowerPoint presentations on the day for symposium speakers.
- enable orientation and front of house smooth running of guest speakers
- assist with smooth transitioning of PowerPoint presentations between speakers and be IT literate and prepared to troubleshoot technical issues on the day of the symposium.
- prepare handouts for visitors, welcome and orientation.
- handle a roving microphone for the visitors to the symposium (for Q & As)
Details:
Dates: 15th and 16th May 2025 (possibly 2 hours on 17th in case of follow up queries, or one hour longer on 15th and 16th)
Hours of Work: (average 8 hour day with lunch break and breaks) 9.00 - 4.30 (15th), 9.00 - 5.30 (16th) 10.00 - 12.00 (17th)
