Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
  
The Science and Engineering marketing team are looking to recruit proactive, outgoing and organised students currently studying an undergraduate level subject at Manchester Met to work as ambassadors at our upcoming Undergraduate Open Day on Wednesday 18 June 2025.

Successful applicants will assist the marketing and academic teams at the event; meeting and greeting visitors, providing information and insight on university life to prospective students and their families, and sharing the benefits of higher education and studying at Manchester Met.

We are looking to recruit students from across the following course areas within the faculty. When submitting your application, please include the subject you are currently studying in your application:

Biology and Conservation
Biomedical and Physiological Sciences 
Chemistry
Computing 
Engineering 
Geography and the Environment 
Manchester City Community Football Coaching 
Mathematics
Sport 
Sport and Youth Leadership 
 
Duties:
  • Represent your subject area at the Open Day.
  • Support academics by answering questions from prospective students.
  • Assisting academic staff with presentations and demonstrations where needed.
  • Assisting visitors with guidance, directions and general queries.
  • Assisting the marketing team with event set up prior to and at the conclusion of the event.

Date: Wednesday 18 June 2025
Hours of Work: 8 hours (9am - 5pm)

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Undergraduate Science & Engineering Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements:
  •  Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with prospective students, guests and academic staff.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for your course area, our faculty, and Manchester Met University.
  • Ability to work both as a team, and independently.
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service from a friendly yet professional approach.
  • A positive perspective on higher education and the university.
  • Current student on a degree programme within the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Manchester Met.
