Please note, this opportunity is only available to Manchester Met 2024 graduates who will be based in the UK for the duration of this role. You must have graduated from an undergraduate course from Manchester Met in June 2024 to apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from current or previous postgraduate students.
Background
The Enrolment & Events Team handles a variety of tasks, including operating the Enrolment Helpline, producing Welcome events and student ID cards, planning and conducting graduation ceremonies, and managing the production and posting of award certificates.
Key Responsibilities
A Future Talent graduate in this role will be involved in all of these areas except graduation ceremonies (due to timing). Through a broad range of administrative and customer service tasks, they will gain extensive experience in customer service, familiarity with university systems, and an understanding of processes within a large organisation.
The first part of the placement will focus on enrolment and will begin with a two-day training session on enrolment and systems, scheduled for 12–13 August. For this reason, we can only accept candidates who can start on 11 August. By assisting with enrolment issues, the graduate will learn university systems and develop confidence in resolving issues independently or referring them to specialist teams.
Following this, tasks will expand to include ID card production and potentially minor assistance with the presentation of Welcome events, although most planning will already be complete.
In the final month, the focus will shift to handling award certificate enquiries, working with the team to resolve issues such as lost certificates or misprints.
Throughout the placement, the graduate will work alongside permanent staff, learning to use university systems and protocols, communicate professionally with colleagues, and operate specialised software such as CardExchange and FreshService. Depending on their interests and abilities, they may also produce reports using Microsoft Office and other reporting tools.
