Job Description

Please note, this opportunity is only available to Manchester Met 2024 graduates who will be based in the UK for the duration of this role. You must have graduated from an undergraduate course from Manchester Met in June 2024 to apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from current or previous postgraduate students.
 
 
Background

The main purpose of this Office/PA role is to support the office functions of the senior management of the University.  

This role is based in the Executive Support Team which provides PA support to Pro Vice-Chancellors, Directors and Heads of Department. It will give you an insight into the operational requirements of a busy office environment and provide an understanding of the University structure. We will help you to acquire organisation and time-management skills that are essential requirements for any career pathYou will be able to work independently and as part of a team.

 
Key Responsibilities
You will work alongside the PAs and support a variety of administrative tasks. This includes organising events and meetings, taking notes during key discussions, and handling travel arrangements and conference bookings. You’ll also assist with general PA duties as needed, contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
 
 This is a fast-paced, varied and challenging role that requires a flexible, pro-active approach.

 

Key Tasks
  •  Pro-active management and co-ordination of Outlook diaries to arrange meetings and appointments 
  •  Servicing support to meetings including note-taking and follow up actions 
  •  Acting as a point of contact and information 
  •  Arranging hospitality, travel and accommodation
  •  Liaising with a wide range of internal queries from academic colleagues and other Professional Services teams
  •  Arranging Away Days and events
  •  General office duties

Monday 11 August - Friday 31 October 2025
Hours: 35 hours per week full time, except for Bank Holiday Monday (25 August 2025)
Working pattern: Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:45am-4:30pm or 9:00am-4:45pm with an unpaid 45-minute lunch break 
Location:  Executive Support Offices in faculties and Ormond

Person Specification

This role is only open to those who graduated from a Manchester Met undergraduate course in June 2024 and are not currently studying, nor have previously studied, on a postgraduate course.
