Background
The main purpose of this role is to support the Information Governance function in achieving and demonstrating compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act. The intern will work alongside a Senior Information Governance Officer on a risk assessment and mitigation project. This project will include the following phases: identifying gaps, analysing those gaps, designing mitigation measures, tracking the closure of gaps, and producing internal reports.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will support the Information Governance function in ensuring compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act by contributing to a structured risk assessment and mitigation project. Working closely with a Senior Information Governance Officer, the intern will be responsible for identifying and analysing compliance gaps, designing appropriate mitigation measures, and tracking their resolution. They will manage the project lifecycle from end to end, ensuring timely progress and effective documentation. The role also involves regular communication and collaboration with stakeholders across the institution to gather information, share findings, and support the implementation of compliance measures.

Hours: 35 hours per week full time, except for Bank Holiday Monday (25 August 2025)
Working pattern: Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:45am-4:30pm or 9:00am-4:45pm with an unpaid 45-minute lunch break
Location: Ormond Building, Lower Ormond Street
