Job Description

Please note, this opportunity is only available to Manchester Met 2024 graduates who will be based in the UK for the duration of this role. You must have graduated from an undergraduate course from Manchester Met in June 2024 to apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from current or previous postgraduate students.

This role as a Engagement and Projects Officer is available as part of the Future Talent Graduate Scheme.

Background
This initiative is designed to help Psychology students feel more confident and excited about their future careers. It’s common for students to feel unsure or even overwhelmed by the wide range of options within, around, and beyond Psychology. This uncertainty can often affect their confidence.

That’s where this brand-new project comes in. Through real-world graduate and employer stories shared via blogs, videos, and podcasts, we aim to bring different career options to life in an engaging way. The goal is to simplify choices, raise awareness of available opportunities, and help students feel more informed and inspired about what comes next.

Key Responsibilities
You will support the delivery of the Psychology Futures project by helping to create, edit, and promote engaging content such as blogs, videos, and podcasts. Working with graduates, students, and staff, you’ll ensure the content is inclusive, inspiring, and informative. You’ll also manage the project’s podcast, contribute to social media promotion, and help gather feedback to measure impact.

Key Tasks
Working closely with the Psychology Futures Project Lead (Rob Bracey), you will:
  • Communicate with the graduates, students, employers and university staff who will be creating the Psychology Futures content, offering advice and guidance on their creations.
  • Edit and upload their blogs and videos onto the Psychology Futures student page.
  • Manage the Psychology Futures ‘Career Journeys’ podcast, hosting / producing, editing and uploading the finished content.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to promote the Psychology Futures project on social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Consider how the content can be representative of the full student cohort, so students from all backgrounds feel seen.
  • Use your experience as a recent student and current graduate to help shape the project. We will value your ideas and proactivity — your input will make a big difference in making Psychology Futures the best it can be.
  • Gather feedback to help measure the success of the project.

Full training will be provided on all the above.
