Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
   
As a Commercial / Marketing Intern at Shaw Cricket Club, you will play a pivotal role in driving our revenue initiatives. Your efforts will directly contribute to the club's financial growth through innovative strategies and partnerships at the same time as helping elevate Shaw Cricket Club's brand presence locally and internationally through innovative proactive marketing campaigns.
 
The Company
 Founded in 1897, Shaw Cricket Club is a proud member of the GMCL Premier League, located in the heart of North East Manchester. With top-class playing facilities and vibrant social element, we are inclusive, diverse and very ambitious cricket club looking to drive Shaw into 2026 and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in developing and implementing commercial strategies to maximise revenue.
- Identify and engage potential sponsors and partners.
- Support fundraising efforts through events and community initiatives.
- Analyse market trends to inform commercial decisions.
- Collaborate with the team to create compelling pitches and proposals.
- Assist in the creation and execution of marketing strategies to enhance club visibility.
- Develop content for social media platforms, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Conduct market research to identify audience preferences and trends.
- Collaborate on community engagement initiatives and events.
- Monitor and analyse marketing campaign performance.

Dates: February 2026 onwards
Hours: Flexible, maximum of 16 hours per week.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who meet the following criteria:
 
  • Proactive & Enthusiastic: A "can-do" attitude with the drive to take on new projects and learn quickly.
  • Passionate about Sport Especially Cricket: A genuine interest in the commercial opportunities in the sporting sector, specifically revenue generation, maximising profitability or marketing.
  • Communicator & Collaborator: Excellent verbal and written skills, able to build relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Organised Multi-tasker: Capable of juggling various tasks, from event planning to data entry, while maintaining high attention to detail.
