The Manchester School of Architecture is seeking enthusiastic and motivated students to contribute to the organisation of the 2026 Degree Show, which will open in early June. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in curating and developing a large-scale exhibition while navigating the complexities involved in such a project.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the exhibition’s planning and execution, from spatial organisation and logistics to collaborating with key stakeholders, including the faculty’s gallery team, atelier leads from the Department of Architecture, and students across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Key Responsibilities:
You will support various aspects of the Degree Show within the Architecture department, with tasks including but not limited to:
-Developing a floor plan for the exhibition layout.
-Creating a timeline and schedule for the setup, opening, and takedown of the show.
-Managing logistics, such as sourcing materials, arranging deliveries, and overseeing storage.
-Acting as a liaison between students, faculty members, and other stakeholders.
-Preparing and distributing guidelines on exhibition requirements.
-Responding to queries from students and staff.
-Assisting in the construction and assembly of exhibition structures, including partitions, plinths, and signage.
-Organising and labelling student work to ensure proper placement within the exhibition.
-Troubleshooting last-minute issues that may arise during the setup phase.
-Assisting with the dismantling of the exhibition after its conclusion.
