Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
Senior Lecturer Neil Mackenzie is seeking a skilled videographer to capture and edit various outdoor and indoor events, exhibitions and performances in Didsbury, Burnage and Withington, South Manchester as part of the Didsbury Arts Festival 27 June - 5 July 2026
   
The successful candidate will film clips of events and vox pop interviews across the time and space of the festival as requested by the Hiring Manager, mostly weekend afternoons and evenings, and week day evenings, and edit the footage to capture the spirit of the festival in two approx. 2 minute edits, one specific to the outdoor events 11.30-3pm on Sunday 5th July (including one workshop prior to the day).
 
Filming locations/times and an editing brief will be provided by the Hiring Manager once the successful candidate has been appointed.

Date: Saturday 27 June to Sunday 5 July
Event Time: Various - mostly weekend afternoons and evenings, and week day evenings.
 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
 
Essential
  • Must supply own videography equipment, including high-resolution video camera and tripod, microphone, and SD cards with sufficient storage
  • Previous experience in event videography
  • Ability to capture high-quality footage in varying lighting conditions
  • Reliability and capacity to deliver a polished, edited video promptly after the event - exact requirements to be discussed at role briefing
Desirable
  • Previous experience filming performances, workshops, interviews and/or outdoor events
  • Interest in a broad range of contemporary arts
The successful applicant will be expected to provide their own equipment. Students studying on eligible courses may be able to hire the required equipment from a resource store on campus.
