Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
Neurokinetic are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Marketing Assistant for a student internship opportunity. This role offers hands-on experience supporting a growing community charity that delivers specialist exercise and wellbeing sessions for people living with neurological conditions. The successful candidate will assist with social media content, marketing campaigns, photography, newsletters, event promotion, and community engagement. They will help raise awareness of the charity’s impact, increase participation, and support fundraising initiatives. This placement is ideal for a student interested in marketing, communications, health, charity work, or social impact, while gaining valuable real-world experience within a supportive and rewarding environment

Hours: 15 hours per week (75 hours total)

The Company:
The is a community charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with neurological and mobility conditions. We provide specialist exercise and wellbeing sessions designed to help improve balance, strength, coordination, confidence, and overall quality of life. Our members include people living with conditions such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, dementia, and other neurological challenges. Alongside physical activity, we create opportunities for social connection, peer support, and community engagement, while also supporting carers through informal networks and wellbeing initiatives. Our aim is to help people stay active, independent, connected, and supported within their local community.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who have/are:
  • Communication and organisational skills
  • Creativity, and an interest in marketing, community engagement, and the charity sector
  • Experience or confidence using social media platforms, Canva for graphic design, Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations, and Microsoft Excel for basic data tracking and reporting
  • Knowledge of Word & email marketing platforms
  • Photography, and video editing would also be beneficial
  • Proactive
  • Reliable
  • Enthusiastic
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team, while communicating sensitively with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities
